Environment, Health and Safety
The Department of Environment, Health and Safety is committed to keeping faculty, staff, students, the local community and the environment safe for current and future generations. We work with university departments to educate, facilitate and support working with and around potential hazards on campus.
Executive Order 1039
The California State University has implemented Executive Order 1039 to establish and maintain practices that enhance the safety of faculty, students, staff, and volunteers while minimizing environmental impacts through compliance with environmental health regulations. Read Executive Order 1039 to learn about policies and practices designed to mitigate the risk of injury and illness and to promote campus health and safety programs.
Standard Operating Procedures
Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for hazardous chemicals and processes should be created so that laboratory workers can reference them to maintain a safe work environment.
