Hazardous Waste
Hazardous Waste
The EH&S hazardous waste team at SDSU is committed to ensuring the proper identification, management, and disposal of hazardous waste in compliance with federal, state, and local regulations. Our primary goal is to protect the health and safety of students, faculty, and staff while minimizing the environmental impact of hazardous materials.
The SDSU hazardous waste team provides assistance, education, and resources to promote best practices in waste management and handling. We strive to foster a culture of sustainability and environmental stewardship within the university community.
Responsibility for compliance with hazardous waste regulations begins with the individual researchers and employees who generate the waste and extends throughout the entire process, including transportation and disposal.
- Request a hazardous waste pickup by using the Hazardous Waste feature in BioRAFT/SciShield or email [email protected] for a pickup.
- The Hazardous Waste Pickup Request Instructions can help guide you through the process. You may also request labels and empty containers using the request system. Please allow seven business days from requesting waste removal to actual pickup/drop off.
